Blue Light glasses have completely changed my life since I got them. I probably spend 12 hours a day looking at a computer or the TV. I work 9+ hours a day and then get home to work on my online master’s program or my blog and when I have some free time, I’m watching Netflix on my computer or TV. This was absolutely ruining my eyes. They were getting tired, red and blurry by the end of the day and by Friday they were totally shot.
Trevor had been talking about how he wanted to get some Blue Light glasses for a while and so I decided to take the plunge and order some. They made SUCH a difference!! My eyes no longer burn at the end of the day, they aren’t tired at the end of the week and in my opinion, they look pretty darn cute on too…
I even bought some for Trevor for Valentine’s Day and he loves them as well. I can’t say enough great things about them. In today’s day in age, people are looking at technology all the time. You probably don’t even realize how often you’re looking at a screen. I wear these glasses all day at work, whenever I’m watching TV, or if I know I’ll be on my phone for an extended period of time. They have become a part of my daily routine and I highly recommend them. Protecting your eyes is so important and even if you wear prescription glasses you can get the Blue Light blocking lenses added to those as well!
I’ve linked mine and Trevor’s Blue Light Blocking glasses below as well as some other one’s I’ve found with great reviews:

I just got this adorable purple and white turtleneck from American Eagle! It's so soft and is 50% off making it $18 - such a steal! I've show these Amazon hair ties before, but they come in a 6 pack for $8 and I use them all the time. My leggings are from Lululemon and perfect for lounging. If you missed where my glasses are from above, they're DIFF.
Wishing everyone a day filled with love and happiness! Valentine's Day is not just meant for those in relationships, but for everyone to be surrounded with people they love and care about.

I have received a TON of questions on how I find my items on amazon and whether it is worth shopping on there. Well, I can tell you that I spend a lot of time browsing items and looking for good deals. I also spend a lot of time returning items that don’t fit, are bad quality or just look nothing like their picture online. It’s a total hit or miss game, but it’s super fun for me! It’s worth it when you have a good find that’s cheap and great quality. So, if you’re not into trying out new things and returning half of them, amazon shopping probably isn’t for you. However, lucky for you, I do a lot of the heavy lifting for you! :)
Anyways, I have been able to find some AMAZING knockoff designer finds on amazon. I’m talking $20-$30 David Yurman Bracelets that are originally $400. I have the real bracelets and I also bought some of the dupe ones and it’s very hard to tell the difference. So, if you’ve been dying for something designer, but don’t want to put down the money amazon has you covered! I’ve linked all my favorite finds below, shop away!!
I do want to make a quick note here - If you're following my blog I hope it's because you are here to support me! When I link Amazon finds that I love, I receive a small percentage if you buy them off of the website link I provide. However, I do not receive anything if you click on the link and buy it off the Amazon app. So please, please ensure you are purchasing on the website link I provide. Thank you!!! I appreciate it :)
I will continue to look for more dupe designer items that are worth the purchase!

Valentine’s Day is less than two weeks away! So, I decided to do some research based on places I’ve been and good ol’ google to help put together a guide of romantic restaurants for you and your special someone to go to this Valentines day. Chicago is filled with so many great places I’ve outlines them by neighborhoods to make it easier! I am well aware that some people hate Valentine’s day so when I say romantic, I don’t mean some quiet dark place where only couples go, I mean somewhere you can have fun with whoever you are with and feel that love is in the air! I will put an * by the places I have been personally, as those are much more genuine recommendations on my part.

I posted quite a few pictures on my Instagram stories and personal Instagram about a black-tie event I went to last weekend at the Field Museum called Snowball. This is an event I discovered last year, and wanted to write a little more about the cause it supports and why I continue to go.
My dad brought this event to my attention during the summer of 2017 and suggested I get a group of friends to attend. At the time, I was just excited to get a long formal dress, cute heels, get my makeup done, curl my hair and have some drinks at the Field Museum with my closest friends. I was naïve as to what the event was really for and what it was supporting.
Snowball is an event put on by Junior Council that benefits the Pediatric & Adolescent HIV/AIDS program at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. The hospital is a top-ranked children’s hospital that works to prevent and treat childhood illnesses. Junior Council was founded after the HIV/AIDS program at the hospital and works to provide aid and finical support to children in need.
The great thing about Junior Council is that it’s led and consists of a ton of Chicago young professionals that have come together to support the cause. A few of my friends and I joined the council after our first Snowball event in 2018. I know it can be difficult to join another group or put something else on your plate when you’re 20-something and working on your career, but Junior Council is an organization where you get out what you can put in. You can be involved in just one event a year, attend the monthly meetings, join committees or apply to be on the board. I have the linked the website here if you want to learn more!
When I first joined, I did a tour of the hospital that I will never forget. My parents are both doctors, so growing up I sat at a lot of nurse’s stations and roamed hospitals while they worked. They were all grey and uneventful for a child, so I was not expecting what I saw at Lurie Children’s Hospital. This hospital was completely made for children. It was colorful and interactive at every step. There was a rain forest, a fire truck house, the elevators had buttons you could click to make noises or turn off the lights, there was a tree house made to overlook the main floor all inside the hospital. There were volunteers that would come in to teach the children, read to them and play with them. It was incredible. It was made to make children feel like they weren’t missing out on their lives and looking at grey hospital walls all day. It was an overwhelming feeling being in there and seeing what all the support of donating can achieve.
Snowball is a wonderful and fun event to go to, but there is so much more behind it. I love to get dressed up, do my hair, get my makeup done at Nordstrom with friends and explore the Field Museum! You enjoy time with friends and dance to live bands, but you also donate to a cause and on big auction items. It’s a great way to start out the year and make January a little less cold and dreary. I hope this post inspires everyone to donate to a great cause and attend some Junior Council events soon!

I always love a black-tie event, any excuse to dress up!! I was looking for a dress that was fun, but elegant and that I could re-wear one day. I came across this dress from Lulus; it was only $84 and came in a ton of colors! I am wearing a size small and I highly recommend it. It has a deep V in the front and back and a leg slit on the left side. Plus, you really cant beat the price! My shoes are Vince Camuto (I love him if you can't tell by now) and my faux fur jacket is from Nordstrom as well! I got my clutch purse on major sale at Rebecca Minkoff.
It’s that time of year again and love is in the air! You either hate it or you love it. Regardless, if there is someone special in your life that you would like to get a present for, I have outlined some fun gifts below - all different prices - that you can look through and click on to get some ideas.
$20 and under
I hope some of these help spark ideas over the next few weeks :) Happy almost Valentine's Day!

I love this outfit for a Valentine's Day night out! The red shoes and bag help the red flowers on the dress pop! My dress is from Lulus and I am wearing a size Small (it runs a tad small so I would size up). My shoes are Vince Camuto from Nordstrom. My bag is from Amazon and comes in a ton of different colors! It can be worn as a clutch if you take off the straps.
Ever since I showed my celery juice morning routine on my stories a few weeks ago I have received a lot of questions on why I do it and if I like it. So here is a post to answer everything I’ve been questioned about.
**Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional (as you all know), therefore this is not intended to substitute as a medical professionals advice. Always seeks the advice of a qualified health provider regarding any medical conditions**
Why did I start? I started doing this because I saw the trend pop up on my Instagram while following other bloggers. I was a tad skeptical at first, but my stomach had been bothering me for a while at that point, so I figured I’d try it out. I’ve now been having celery juice every single morning on an empty stomach for a month and it has made a HUGE difference in my digestion. I no longer have indigestion after eating, I love cheese and typically my stomach is upset after eating it, but not anymore and I don’t bloat anywhere near as much as I used to. It’s also weirdly filling in the mornings so I don’t typically eat till noon and can stay within my 8-hour eating timeframe which is super important to me.
How do I do it? Every night, I cut up my celery into small pieces, place it in some Snapware and store it in the fridge until morning. I typically cut up a full bunch of celery which will give me around 16 oz of juice. In the morning, I pour it into my NutriBullet with some filtered water and mix away! I don’t have a juicer so I strain my juice before I can drink it. It probably takes about 5 minutes tops out of my morning routine. Now that I’ve been drinking it for a while, I don’t even notice the taste, it just goes down like water to me.
I just received my NutriBullet for Christmas and I am in love with it. However, it does force me to have the added step of straining out the pulp. If you end up loving this juice and want to take out the 3 minutes it takes me to strain, I would suggest investing in a juicer! I will probably get one one day as well :)
What does it do? Drinking it in the morning on an empty stomach ensures best results. It clears your stomach of toxins and helps you to digest any food you eat throughout the day. When you juice celery it’s much easier to have more of than when you’re just eating it plain. Also, mineral salts are released from the celery when juiced that help build hydrochloric acid within our stomachs, which help us fight off viruses, etc. Juicing it can also strengthen bile. When I strain the pulp from the juice it removes the fiber which releases more healing benefits. There are so many benefits to drinking it every morning I could go and on, but no one wants to read 10 pages on celery juice. I learned a lot about it from The Medical Medium and here.
Just like any Instagram trend you can read all day about it and find articles that do and do not support it. Since I (and many others as well) notice a difference in my eating and digesting, I fully stand behind celery juice and its benefits.
Feel free to contact with me with any additional questions :)
Outfit and kitchen item details are below!
I’m wearing one of my super cozy outfits that I tend to lounge all day in. Both items are from Gap. My sweatshirt is a cute crop style (on sale!) and the pants are joggers. VERY soft, highly recommend. I also want to link my NutriBullet (of course, cheaper on Amazon than elsewhere) here because I absolutely love it. I think I’ve used it every single day since I’ve gotten it :) The Nutribullet Pro comes with two cup sizes (24 and 32 oz), a handled lip ring and a regular lip ring, as well as a flip top to-go lid. Very versatile! Also linking my Snapware here because I’ve realized becoming an adult means loving your brand-new glass containers that keep my food nice and fresh. SO worth it.
I wanted to write a little bit about some skin and hair products I’ve been using lately that I love. I’m always looking for great products, so this is for anyone that is looking for something new to use!
Winter began, it was freezing out and there was no moisture in the air; my skin was dry like the Sahara Desert. I could feel it all the time and I was starting to peel which is never cute or fun. I was desperately trying to find a new face lotion to use to repair my skin, but was striking out left and right. Finally, my friend Sam recommended a moisturizing skin lotion by Clinique and THANK GOD she did because I am obsessed. I use two of their products everyday. In the morning I wash my face and use the Clinique Moisture Surge 72-hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator. It is a gel-cream that is so light and does not linger on my face. My face does not feel dry at all during the day, even when I’m walking to work and the wind is blowing right through me. I really enjoy that it is fragrance-free and I can use very little to cover my whole face. I have always struggled with acne so I tend to be scared to try something new for fear of my face breaking out, but I have had no issues with the cream and could not love it more. I’ve linked the Amazon one above because it is cheaper than Nordstrom’s :).
At night, after I wash my face, I use the Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask. Your skin loses so much moisture while you sleep, and this cream does such a great job of preventing that. It’s oil-free (so no issue with acne) and fragrance-free as well. I wake up in the morning without a horrible dry feeling on my face. And then I repeat the cycle all over again!
I cannot recommend the Moisture Surge line at Clinique more. It has made such a significant change in my skin and I am so happy. I always need extra help in the winter and this was the perfect skin care routine I was looking for.
Next up is my hair care! As someone who has sort of awkward hair (it’s sometimes wavy, sometimes half of it is wavey and the other half isn’t, and sometimes it’s just all over the place), I like to blow dry, curl and straighten it often. Since having that much heat on my hair and the fact that I color it about twice a year is a big no-no, I must have some sort of products to repair any breakage. My two favorite products currently are both from Moroccanoil.
I use the Moroccanoil Mending Fusion formula every single day and I have noticed such a difference! My split ends are so minimal now and I see very little breakage. It’s a lightweight formula that repairs my hair as well as keeps it from frizzing (which I have a huge problem with). I use about a dime-sized amount that I run through my dry hair after I style it. It’s great because I can barely notice it’s on there, but it smells oh so good.
I also use the Moroccanoil Perfect Defense spray every time I blow dry, straighten or curl my hair. This has made such a difference! I no longer feel like the heat is ruining my hair when I use it. It’s vitamin loaded and hydrates my hair. I just spray it on my wet or dry hair before I use any other products. It is so important to use a heat protector spray before doing your hair and I know plenty of people that skip this step, but I promise it is worth the extra money to make sure your hair is protected.
I feel so much better knowing that my hair is getting the nutrients that it needs. I’ve noticed that it looks so much better, it grows faster and has more volume because I am taking care of it each and every day.
As of right now, these are my skin care and hair care products. As the seasons change, I’m sure I will have more to share!

Traveling is a ton of fun, but typically takes some preparation in order to make it happen. For those of you that missed it, I wrote out a blog about my 2019 travel plans here. So, I have a lot of travel planned this year and have some tips for those of you that like to travel just as much as I do! The below list is random and not in any particular order, but has helped me with all the travel I have planned:
I hope these tips help you plan your next trip or just save money. I plan to use them all in this coming year and explore some new places! :)
Outfit details are below!
Love an all white outfit to complement the snow! My jeans are from Express and my shirt is from Gap. I love, love, love my boots from Target, they're so cute and under $40! My hat is from Amazon and gloves are from Nordstrom and are such a cute combo. My scarf can be found at Gap.
“Oh crap” was my first thought when I got the email that I was accepted into the 2019 Chicago Marathon. At the time it felt like it was a long way away, but now that 2019 is here I have actually start training! I’m excited, nervous and scared all at the same time. I’ve never been big on working out, I played sports from when I was 5 and all through high school, which counted as my work out. But since then, I have been very sporadic with going to the gym or workout classes. So, I have no idea what it’s going to be like to start running every day. But, what I do know from the few weeks I have been running is that I feel much more energized, stretching everyday has made me so much more loose (hopefully I can touch my toes by the end of this!!!) and I am so excited for what is to come!
I have spent hours on the internet looking up training schedules, tips on running a marathon, what shoes to wear, what clothes to wear and how to mentally get through it all. It’s overwhelming to say the least. Most training programs start in May, but I know that I’m going to need way more time than that to get myself into shape. I have started off easy and plan to really get into gear in May when the true training should begin.
The good news is that I already bought the most important thing one needs when training for a marathon – my running shoes. One of my friends (that has run the marathon multiple times and is also the person that convinced me to run it this year (I won’t name names because I am unsure yet if I am mad at her for doing this to me)) suggested I go to Fleet Feet in Old Town. This was a great suggestion seeing as I did not know where to start with finding new shoes and this place was amazing!
For any first-time runners that do not know where to go or where to start, Fleet Feet is your place! I walked in and asked the first person I saw what kind of shoes I should get as first-time runner of the Chicago Marathon. I assumed someone would just show me some shoes and I would be on my way, but it was way more than that, thank goodness.
=I started by standing barefoot on some machine that essentially took a scan of the shape of my feet. From that, the sales associate showed me on an iPad what my feet looked like, their size, their width, the width of my arches, etc. It was so cool! He then asked me to walk back and forth so that he could see how my feet landed on the ground (I’ve never been so self-conscious of my walking!). By having the scan and seeing my walk he was able to see that the insides of my feet seem to hit the ground more often and harder. So, he was able to recommend three shoes to me that had a little more support on the inside sole to prevent it from wearing down faster than the rest of the shoe. I also found it so interesting that it is suggested to go up a full size when picking out gym shoes to run a marathon in. I am typically a size 9, but all the shoes brought out to me were size 10. This is so that your feet have room to swell when running and are not uncomfortable or result in blisters. I tried on all three shoes and ran on the treadmill with them (I would suggest wearing some athletic clothes when going to this store so that you’re not caught running on a treadmill with a dress like some people). It turned out that the first pair of shoes I tried were the best for me (linked below).
I was so pleased with this experience, so I recommend it to anyone looking for a new pair of shoes for any exercise! I learned about all the training programs that are offered, the right socks to wear, the right clothes to wear, the pick-me-ups that I need to take while running and so much more. If you’re a marathon newbie like me, this is an absolute must and will certainly make your run much more enjoyable!

So far, I've been doing a lot of my running in Lululemon gear. Both my sports bra (the color im wearing is gone, but this is the same model) and leggings are Lululemon. While I don't use this hair tie to run, I use it all the time to quickly put my hair up to stretch and it's from Amazon! It comes in a pack of 6 for $8 and I love them so much! I wear them to make outfits more fun whether that's going out or to work.
My running shoes are from Fleet Feet and are New Balance. I love them SO much. They're so comfortable and don't constrict my feet at all. My yoga mat is from Lululemon and it's reversible. It has a polyurethane top which ensures that I don't slip or have a good grip when I am sweaty or doing hot yoga. The loop to carry the mat is also from Lululemon. It makes it so easy to roll up your mat to carry from place to place. I always have my favorite Nordstrom Swell water bottle next to me when working out as well as my roller to help out my muscles.
