I love to travel, it’s as simple as that. I think it’s more valuable to spend money on experiences than things. I am young, with not as many responsibilities as I’m sure I will have later in life, so now is as good of a time as any! With that being said, 2019 is going to be quite an adventure with all the vacations I have planned! It was not my intention to travel so much this year, but I’m certainly not going to say no to a new experience. Six trips have been planned so far and I’m sure something might fall through or pop up, but I am ready for whatever 2019 has to offer! I am also really hoping my PTO can cover it all! :)
The fun will begin in Mexico in February! I will be heading to Nuevo Vallarta with Trevor’s family as a lovely birthday celebration for his mom. Chicago in February is not great, so I am incredibly excited to be heading to warm weather. I will be spending one week on the beach, at the pools, reading and relaxing. I am still going to be in school and training for the marathon, but other than that I plan to spend my time sipping on a piña colada and spending quality time with everyone.
I will be heading to Charleston, SC for my cousin Audra’s wedding at the end of March. I have never been to Charleston and I am so excited to explore the city and celebrate Audra and Adam’s love for each other. I adore weddings and can’t wait to be with my family at yet another joyful Tobin wedding!
Memorial Day weekend spent in Napa is becoming a tradition! Last year I went with two of my girlfriends and we had the best time. I am hoping to have a repeat of this trip. Napa is one of my favorite places to visit not just because it is beautiful, but because I get to see my dad, Ann and the girls and hangout while drinking the best wine Napa has to offer :)
This might be the trip I am most excited about. I'm planning on take this late June/early July, with my dad, Ann the girls and Trevor. When I was younger, my dad would send me to Serbia every summer for a month or more. At the time, I did not appreciate it as much as I wish I did. I loved being able to see my family, but as a young teen I was more worried about all the fun my friends were having without me (stupid, I know, but that is the reality of it). My last trip to Serbia was during my study abroad in England, the spring of 2015. I spent two weeks there and loved every minute of it! It’s been four years and I am due back for a visit. I am fluent in Serbian, but just like anything you don’t use often, it gets rusty. I can’t wait to be immersed in the culture and see all the family I’ve been missing.
Back to Mexico I go for a very close family friend’s wedding during the 4th of July! I’ve actually never been to Playa del Carmen, but it looks incredible. Two trips to Mexico in one year, I’m a lucky girl! I am very thankful that my company gives off the 4th and 5th of July so I’ll be saving some PTO here. Regardless, I cannot wait to celebrate Milica and Nikolay on their special day!
Boy, am I excited for this one!! One of my best friends, Hannah, is getting married and I get to stand next to her on her big day! Hannah has been a big part of my life since the 5th grade and I could not be happier that she has found someone as wonderful as Tate to spend the rest of her life with. This will be such a special day to shower my best friend with all the love and happiness that she deserves. July 20th can’t come soon enough!
Wow, writing this all out makes me realize how lucky I am to be able to experience all these wonderful places and moments with the people I love oh so much. I’m hoping it all works and that 2019 is one of my best years yet!
I plan to write a post about travel tips soon so stay tuned.
Outfit details are below!
Dresses with big scarfs are some of my favorite outfits to put together, easy and beautiful. My dress is from Amazon, only $18 and I am wearing a size Small! It has a pockets and comes in 8 different colors, I even ordered it in black after loving it so much! My scarf is also from Amazon (surprise, surprise, I love Amazon!) in the Blush color, I like it because even though it looks big it's not overwhelmingly thick and uncomfortable to wear. You all have seen my shoes before! They're Sam Edelman from Nordstrom and they are a MUST, I wear them all the time.
