It comes as no shock to anyone that I love fashion and putting outfits together. This is especially exciting for when there is a big event or holiday coming up such as Christmas. I think Christmas outfits are fun to put together because I really love to incorporate a pop of red in my outfits. I think red becomes my favorite color during the holidays! However, I am sure there are plenty of people out there that hate throwing outfits together so I’ve outlined some super easy outfits for today and tomorrow that you can just throw on.
Comfy and Casual – When I am not feeling a real dressy outfit or just want to eat everything during the holidays I tend to lean towards what is most comfortable. So, it’s very easy to pull together some leggings and a long sweater. In order to make it more holiday-esque I would go with a forest green flowy long sweater paired with a red scarf. It will be a comfortable outfit to hang out in all day, but still looks nice and goes with the holiday.
Dresses- Dresses are also very simple to throw on, no need to try and match a top a bottom! For the Christmas season I tend to lean towards dresses that have some type of red in them (like this dress) versus going with a completely red dress. This makes it not so “in your face”, but still looks festive.
Skirts – Skirts tend to be my personal favorite for this time of the year (like the photos in this post!). I also love to pair neutral skirts with a colored turtleneck. A casual skirt can easily be dressed up with a fancier turtle neck and some booties. Since my skirt had no red in it I threw on a maroon turtleneck and boom, the perfect Christmas Eve outfit was set! I also like to do the exact opposite and use a skirt that has a lot going on (future post to come as an example) with a neutral (black or white) turtle neck. This ensures that your outfit doesn’t have too much going on.
Jeans – If jeans are your thing then I would recommend going with black ones. These pair so well with red sweaters and shirts and your outfit looks more dressed up than it actually is. Black jeans are great in the winter time and look fabulous with booties or boots.
PJs – If it was up to me I would be in PJs 24/7. Obviously I would recommend going with some festive Christmas PJs or even red plaid ones. Can’t go wrong with PJs, but don’t use this post as an excuse to wear them at a party and ruin your family’s formal Christmas dinner!
I hope these tips help some of you pick out your outfits tonight and alleviate some of that holiday stress! Merry Christmas Eve and happy holidays to all!
Outfit details are below!
I love any good Christmas or Christmas Eve outfit with a pop of red! My turtle neck is from Express and I am wearing a size Small . My skirt is from Loft and I am wearing an XS (it runs big), it has pockets which I love. My booties are from Guess and they are great because the heel looks very tall, but they have a platform at the bottom that make them a breeze to walk in (going to continue to search for these online since I can't find them, but I am tagging these that I've tried on and fit very similarly to the ones I am wearing in the photos.
